The kids loved it! The aquarium is actually two buildings, one dedicated to rivers and the other to oceans. We had a blast in the butterfly garden, touched sting rays and sharks and enjoyed looking at all the otters, sharks, penguins and much much more. Even this girl, who has a fear of fish had a great time. I think probably my favorite part was watch the scuba divers swim in the exhibits. That's something I would never do!
There's a huge plaza outside with all sorts of things to climb on and a "riverbed" to swim in. We didn't realize it was there so they only waded, but they still had a blast.
Afterward, we walked across the Walnut St. Bridge, the longest pedestrian bridge in the world, which spans the Tennessee River.
There's a carousel in the park on the north side of the river and we promised Ewan he would get to ride on it. Both kids were in heaven! Ewan actually rode it several times.
We really liked the Tennessee Aquarium and what we saw of Chattanooga. It's somewhere that we definitely want to visit again!
I love aquariums!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lot of fun and that last picture is just precious!
ReplyDeleteSO MUCH FUN! You all look like you had a great time!
ReplyDeleteI found this post bookmarked in my favorites, I'm not sure how long its been there or how I got here! I love your honesty. I also suffered delayed PPD after having a traumatic labor and birth. I'm still angry with the hospital where I delivered, and I'm terrified to get pregnant again because of it. I hope your doing well.
ReplyDeleteI love it because I also bite my tongue just like that :-)
ReplyDeleteHi! You have no idea how much it means to me to know that I have reached someone else who has gone through what I have. I can't say that I'm completely better and "over it" because I don't think that I will ever truly be over it. But, I have been able to process some of what happened and have channeled my energy into becoming a birth advocate and am pretty involved in my local ICAN chapter. If you have one near you, I highly recommend going to a meeting. It is so comforting to be with women who truly get it.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun! We'll have to remember it if we ever go there. I actually don't care for Shedd's Aquarium in Chicago, but this one looks terrific.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like so much fun. :)
ReplyDeleteFor as much as I have been to Chicago, I have never been to Shedd Aquarium!
ReplyDeleteI do too...and I don't like fish!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an amazing time! Thank you for sharing! I would love to see Chattanooga someday!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't really see much of it, but it's on our list to revisit. There's so much to do with the kids too!
ReplyDeleteWe went to that aquarium last year and loved it! The exhibits are really nicely done.
ReplyDeleteWe want to go back and spend a long weekend in Chattanooga. It was really nice.
