I love fireworks. Love them. I can remember when I was really little going out to what was then a big grassy field in Johnny Appleseed Park to watch the fireworks at the end of the Three Rivers Festival and going out in the boat to watch the fireworks at the lake almost every July 4th. Those memories are some of my favorites from childhood.
My favorite July 4th as an adult was when Alan and I went to NYC for the weekend in 2009. We watched the fireworks on one of the piers on the Hudson River. Very very cool. It was actually the only time we saw fireworks on the fourth while we lived in Pennsylvania.
I think this was the last time we saw fireworks on the fourth actually...now that we have kids, they've been too young really so we haven't bothered. Until this year. Tonight we're taking them to see the fireworks in town and possibly tomorrow night on the lake.
I cannot wait!

ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a Happy 4th of July.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite tomato recipe is a made-from-scratch tomato and basil soup!
ReplyDeleteAria's first fourth was a semi disaster seeing if she would either fall asleep in her carrier or stay awake happily. But, she did great this year with staying up to see the fireworks! It was awesome seeing them with her, she was a big fan! I hope you had a great fourth! and enjoyed your fireworks!
ReplyDeleteI hope your kidos liked the fireworks! We let our LO stay up for them for the first time this year and it went pretty well. She liked them but got tired of the noise pretty quickly. Next year we just need to sit further away! You have some great firework photos - I'm awful at night photos but yours look awesome! Thanks for linking up with us!
ReplyDeleteI love fireworks, too! There's just something about watching them with friends and family on holidays. My sister and I realized this past weekend that we think all fireworks shows should have music (blame the shows at Disney World!), and we ended up leading a round of "The Star Spangled Banner" at the fireworks show this past weekend!!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you and your family got to see them and enjoyed the fourth. Wish I had been able to myself.
ReplyDeleteWe used to at the lake...until one fell on the roof and almost caught the house on fire!
ReplyDeleteI got lucky with the photos :-) This year they weren't that great!
ReplyDeleteWe did thank you! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think they should have patriotic music on the 4th...not what we heard this past weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe went to an amazing Firework show again this year. My youngest loved it and he sat still the entire time, watching the fireworks. I hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe love us some fireworks, and this was the first time in three years we were finally able to watch them!
ReplyDeleteHope you and your family took in some great displays!
