This last week Alan and I have been partaking in the 21 Day Sugar Detox. See, we had his bet going on that he wouldn't be able to go the whole 21 days. I told him he wouldn't make it three. He made it a week and I gave him permission to quit for Father's Day. The main reason being that I had a Diet Coke one night so he said that I cheated....technically true, but it wasn't flat out sugar so I don't necessarily count it... :-) (See, Alan, I admitted it, on my blog even! Are you happy?)
As a recent Facebook status of his said, he didn't know what he was going to do without his Mountain Dew and peanut butter sandwiches. Well, these are just a few of the meals we ate this past week and they were might tasty!

Ham steak with quinoa pasta and nutritional yeast.
Tarragon Chicken
Baked chicken Parmesan with greens.
Orange Ginger pork chops with grilled veggies and green beans.
Who thought we were going to eat nothing but salads?
I'm part of the #2014BloggerChallenge. Are you?

These all look so great, and I would definitely eat them. I think the hubs would too! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to do detox, but had no clue what to eat. Now I do thanks to these yummy-looking meals! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThese look really yummy. I have never detoxed before, but with meals like this it doesn't look so bad.
ReplyDeleteI have never detoxed before. I should really try to get myself off of Mt. Dew. It's so hard though!
ReplyDeleteAll of those meals look great! I think we forget that we can eat well with good food and be healthy! Thinking about that Tarragon Chicken.
ReplyDeleteI used to be a hard core Mt. Dew drinker when I was younger. I gave up all soda and lost 50 lbs. now I can't stand the taste.
ReplyDeleteYou can eat so much, it just requires a lot of planning and no prepackaged anything.
ReplyDeleteI'll email you the recipe when I get home and can look it up. It calls for mushrooms but since I don't like them I always substitute something else.
ReplyDeleteGreat bet...! It is so difficult to cut out sugar - I don't think I would last more than 24 hours...
ReplyDeleteThe pork chops look amazing!
ReplyDeleteI get my pork from a local Amish farmer. It's amazing!
ReplyDeleteI've done the whole 21 days before, but we lasted a week. I'm still not doing sugar, but I'm allowing diet soda.
ReplyDeleteDid he get back on it after Father's Day?
ReplyDeleteHahaha nope! Although he has said that he feels really sick after drinking Mt. Dew now...
