Saturday afternoon we went to the local Mardi Gras parade. While it's not New Orleans, we (for the most part) had a great time.
We made the mistake of getting there an hour early because we didn't know how crowded it would be. We got great seats, but then had to entertain the kids for an hour. Not an easy feat with a 16 month old and a three year old that kept wanting to run down the street.
The kids were both a little scared at first, but they wound up loving the parade. Ewan was super excited he got all those beads!

Looks like fun! We have been snowed in (and such cold weather has kept us in) for so long that a parade with just a sweatshirt looks so wonderful!
ReplyDeleteAt least the street was blocked off!
ReplyDeleteKeeping them entertained for an hour? Not so much - the photo of them in the stroller about sums it up :-) But the 20 minutes of the parade, yes! We had friends in it so it made it that much more entertaining.
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun! I wish my town had a parade for Mardis Gras, but we will just have to wait until St. Patricks Day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like the kiddos had a wonderful time. Wish the weather was better.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had a parade for St. Patrick's Day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun!! I really want to take Eli to a parade, I haven't yet because I never know how he will react with crowds and sounds with his sensory issues but then again I think he'll enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteEwan was a little scared of the puppets but otherwise he loved it. Cecily didn't really know what was going on but she was laughing so I'm assuming she liked it too!
