Coconut Water
When I first tried it during the 21 Day Sugar Detox, I thought it was disgusting but now I love it. My favorite "drink" is now coconut water on the rocks with a splash of lime juice and true grenadine.
Coconut Oil
I don't know what hole I've been living in but coconut oil is awesome! As evidenced by the giveaway from Tropical Traditions going on right now, coconut oil has so many wonderful uses and properties, from cooking and baking to using it on your hair and skin, and even using it as an antifungal. I remember a friend of mine using it on her hair in middle school and thinking she was nuts to put grease in her hair. Well, 20 years later and I finally understand why!
Kale

Kale
You may remember this post from last summer when I tried to make kale chips. I couldn't stand kale. At all. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I was sauteeing it for dinner one night. I took a bite and immediately thought how yummy it was. My, how things change...
Raw Cheese
I used to buy raw cheese from the Amish at Booth's Corner when we lived in PA. It was so delish; it would be gone within a week. Once we moved back to Indiana, I didn't know where to find it locally so we stopped eating it. I've now found a source again in my local real food group and holy cow is it good! I know dairy isn't paleo, but this is one of my few exceptions :-)
Bacon
It has been YEARS since I ate real bacon. Do you know how delicious it is?! While I do like turkey bacon, there is just something about eating real bacon that is divine.
Most of all I love the fact that I have to be creative with what I cook. I love trying out and creating new recipes. One of these days I will post a few more on here!

Could you please explain Paleo to me in simple terms?
ReplyDeleteI so admire you for doing this--and I'm going to start using coconut oil for my hair too (I think ;)).
ReplyDeleteI love love coconut oil! Just opening the jar reminds me of the beach ;-)
ReplyDeleteI've tried coconut water once. Now I'm scarred of it. Your photo makes it look very good.
ReplyDeleteWhile I have no desire to ever do the paleo diet, I do love real bacon! We had some over the summer and I thought I was in heaven:)
ReplyDeleteReally? Why are you scared of it? I will admit that at first I thought it was so gross but now I love it. It's my go-to when I don't want plain water.
ReplyDeleteI've never had turkey bacon, I love the real stuff too much haha. Coconut water sounds really good!!
ReplyDeleteI have only eaten turkey bacon for years...until recently. Now I don't know if I can ever go back!
ReplyDeleteIt's not that bad. I promise :-) I really enjoy it. Things that I would've totally eaten before taste awful to me now.
ReplyDeletePaloe diet to me seems pretty sensible. I love coconut water - coconut anything actually, oil, organic flakes and so healthy. thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful healthy day.
ReplyDeleteI need to try coconut water...never had it...I hear a lot of people (including yourself) say it is great, and great for you.... looks like I need to give it a try!
ReplyDeleteYou really should! At first it kind of has a funky taste, but once you get used to it it's so refreshing!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a big fan of coconut flakes because of the texture, but I love everything else coconut!
ReplyDeleteThanks
