I recently wrote about how Alan took me to St. Louis for my birthday because he knew how bummed I was about not being able to do much for it with everything else we have going on. Well. it got me to thinking about all the sweet things he has done for me over the years.
Alan isn't one to send flowers very often. But, he does other, super sweet and romantic gestures that mean so much more because he got creative.
Such as the jar of reasons he loves me that he made for our first Valentine's Day together.
Or the time he hid dinosaur valentines around our apartment in PA for me to find...months later. And then made a homemade valentine with the kids this year.
Or how he put a sticky note with the words "I love you" on the wall for our first anniversary...one for each day we had been married.
Or how he had a card for every hour of the day of our anniversary this year with the exact date of special moments in our relationship.
He may not do huge, extravagant gestures the majority of the time. But, Alan has done so many of these little things for me and they really do mean so much more than any vase of flowers ever could. I appreciate him more than he will ever know!

He has lots of great ideas...he needs to share them with someone else I know;) I like getting flowers, but sometimes I think that's almost the easy way out. It doesn't require as much thought or effort as this kind of thing!
ReplyDeleteI like flowers too, but he doesn't get them very often. They don't last that long and they're expensive. I love that I have keepsakes from when we first started dating!
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice. But when he forgets something like a birthday card and I get upset, he never lets me hear the end of it!
ReplyDeletehe sounds so sweet. I would love those things if someone did them for me!
ReplyDeleteAll of those things are SO much sweeter than flowers which would die after a few days any ways. Incredible and thoughtful!
ReplyDeleteGood man. It really is the little things.
ReplyDeleteThe little things mean so much more! He sounds amazingly sweet!
ReplyDeleteBelieve me, I do! :-)
ReplyDeleteI know. I love it that I have permanent keepsakes.
ReplyDeleteOMG this man needs to be bottled and sold! Those things are amazing! The anniversary cards for every hour of the day....I would have crumpled in a crying heap! You are one lucky lady!
ReplyDeleteWow that is amazing what he does for you! My man does good to remember my birthday !
