New Couch

Since we finally get possession of our house this coming week, we went and looked at couches this weekend. And...we bought a new sofa and loveseat!

Alan also got a chair to go along with it. Yay for new furniture!

Ewan's Baptism

Last weekend was really busy. I had spring concerts for Wolfgang Orchestra on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Sunday morning, we officially became members of the church we've been going to and Ewan was baptized. We've been wanting to do for awhile and I'm really glad we did. My mom, grandma and uncle came down and Alan's parents came over from Louisville. While, it was good to see everyone, it was definitely a busy weekend. I felt like I needed a day off from the weekend!

It's Official

We closed on our house today!

Now we just have to wait 14 days until we take possession to start painting and moving in.

Yay for no longer being property virgins!

I know I haven't posted that much lately...well, there's been a reason for that...

I'm pregnant!

Ewan's little brother or sister will be arriving in mid-October. I haven't said anything sooner because there have been some issues - long story short - I was possibly exposed to rubella by a co-worker and since my MMR immunity is borderline, I have to go through several blood tests and have my anatomy scan with my hospital's high-risk ob at the end of May. The first two blood tests were fine and most likely I and the baby are fine (especially since I haven't contracted it), but my mind won't totally be at ease until the anatomy scan.

What's so crazy is that there are so many people I know that are currently pregnant and due in October. Not only that, but within days of my due date. Actually, a good friend of mine and I share the same due date. I have always said that I didn't want an October baby because there are so many October birthdays in Alan's family. Well, I guess it's a good month!

Date Night

Last Saturday Alan and I had a date night, the first in I don't even know how long. Alan had bought me tickets to Cirque du Soleil for my birthday and I wound up having to go to Virginia for work and was supposed to get back Saturday and probably have missed the show. Luckily, we got back on Thursday!

We went to Old Chicago for dinner, somewhere we've both wanted to try for awhile. It was really good and the portions were HUGE! I brought almost all of my dinner home. We had some time before the show started so we went to Lowe's and looked at paint colors for the house.

Alan got tickets in the third row on the floor, so we had a great view of everything. However, there was audience participation! I was terrified I was going to be picked every time the spotlight went over our section. Luckily, that didn't happen!

I've always wanted to see a Cirque du Soleil show and I'm glad I finally got to go!

I want to take a trip so badly. To somewhere I want to go, not have to because of work/family obligations. And definitely not Florida! It's so overrated....
I actually have a trip to the Black Hills planned...we just have to make arrangements. Not gonna happen this year though since neither Alan nor I have much vacation left and we have to save what we do have for dr. appointments and such. Hopefully next summer.
We WILL be going somewhere neither of us has been next year regardless. I will make sure that happens!
