We Have a Tooth!

Ewan finally got his firth tooth! I've been able to feel his two front teeth beneath the gum for weeks and one of them finally erupted. My little guy is becoming such a big boy!

Father's Day

We spent Father's Day in Louisville at Alan's parents. His grandparents had a cookout and we had a yummy lunch of steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, fruit salad and cake. Those southerners sure know how to cook!

Ewan met some of his cousins and his great-uncles for the first time. I even had the camera with me, but did I take any photos? Nope! I really need to work on that.

I did take a sneak video earlier in the day at Alan's parents however. Shh! Don't tell Alan!

Skinny Taste

If you haven't heard about http://www.skinnytaste.com you really need to check this site out! My friend Rachel introduced me to it a few months ago and I've made several of the recipes posted on here. Love it!

Blue Velvet

Red velvet cake is my absolute favorite, but I've always been afraid to make it myself. Well, I decided to try last night and everything was going great until I realized we didn't have any red food coloring! Oops! So I decided to make blue velvet cake instead. Still yummy!

Sweet Potatoes!

Mom, what IS this?

Ewan's been eyeing and grabbing for our food for weeks now, so we decided to give him his first taste of solids. He loved it!

Five Months!

Ewan is five months old today! Where has the time gone? I feel like I'm going to blink and he'll be starting kindergarten.

Anya's Birthday

Yesterday was little Miss Anya's 1st birthday.

I think she liked her gifts from us!

I know it's way late in the game, but I FINALLY got my garden planted today. It's been so wet and then ridiculously hot that I haven't been able to get out there. I put the rocks that Alan and I attempted to dig out back and then set up a little bed for tomatoes, peppers and green beans. My aunt gave me a bunch of herbs last weekend and I got the chives and mint planted in another little bed I had created a few weeks ago. The oregano and parsley didn't make it unfortunately. I also planted some basil and petunias and finally got my hibiscus bush planted, although those are in containers. I also put a tomato plant in a topsy turvy planter. We got one at my bridal shower and never used it so I thought it would be interesting to see if it actually works. We shall see!

Memorial Day Weekend

Alan, Ewan and I were looking forward to a relaxing weekend at the lake and after driving 6 hours immediately after work on Friday, we were so ready!

Well, the weekend didn't turn out as we'd hoped. Friday and Saturday were unusually cool and it was freezing at the lake, which I was fully prepared for. What I wasn't was for the furnace at the lake house to be broken. After an absolutely freezing night, we couldn't get the pilot light lit on the water heater so we made the decision to stay in Fort Wayne the rest of the weekend. I was so upset. I love going to the lake and after having only been there a few times the last several years since we lived in PA, I couldn't wait to share it with Ewan. He saw the inside of the house and spent about 10 minutes along the seawall while I was talking to the neighbors.

Before we headed to the Fort and to dinner with Dustin and Mary, we hit up the outlet mall, which we had planned to do already. We did buy a couple things for ourselves, but boy did we buy stuff for Ewan. There are just so many cute kids clothes out there!

On Sunday we met Sarah and Hunter at the zoo. Ewan wasn't feeling well from his shots on Friday and was cranky the entire time. It was also ridiculously HOT! What a difference a day makes... It was nice to see Sarah though.

Memorial Day was my grandma's 88th birthday and we had a lunch at my aunt and uncle's house. Everyone of course enjoying seeing Ewan.

Now, of course, pictures!
