January 10th?!

So I have an induction date set for...January 10th.

I seriously hope he gets his little butt out before then or I will lose my mind! I had my Dr. do a membrane sweep at my appointment yesterday and last night I lost my mucous plug and was having light contractions...which stopped when I went to bed. ARGH!!!! Way to get my hopes up kiddo! I realize losing your mp can mean that you can go into labor within hours, or it could be days or weeks. I know that the possibility of him being born in 2010 is basically null at this point, but I was really hoping he would be a fellow December baby. This kid is more stubborn than Alan and I combined!

Still Here!

So, I'm still here...with NO baby! I guess the wouldn't it be funny if I went into labor during the snowstorm bit didn't work. Not that I blame Gizmo for not wanting to come out. It's cold and snowy out here!

However, from looking outside, we didn't get nearly as much as we were predicted to. We were in the 6-10" band, and while there are definitely drifts from the 40mph wind gusts, there's no way we have even 6" on the ground. I will be shocked if we do. I will try to post pics later, I have to dig out my camera from the hospital bag.

Happy Christmas!

This is a day late, but Happy Christmas! (as the Brits would say)

What did we do you ask? Obviously, we didn't go anywhere since I could go into labor any time now. Alan, my mom and I opened gifts in the morning and then Alan and I made a yummy Christmas lunch of ham, mashed potatoes, green bean and tomato casserole, stuffing, cinnamon bread and my yummy weight watchers chili cheese dip. A lot of food for three people...oops! At least we'll have leftovers for several days!

We were going to save Gizmo's gifts and open them when he's born, but Alan and I opened them anyway since we're impatient for his arrival. As a newborn, he wouldn't really be able to open them anyways...right? :-) We also gave the cats their stocking of cat toys, which are now strewn throughout the apartment. Whenever we move, we're going to find so many toys in random spots because of those troublemakers!

Other than that, we watched movies for the rest of the day, including one of my all time favorites, The Holiday. My mom had never seen it, so I was more than willing to give her the opportunity!

Today is my mom's birthday, and she opened gifts in the morning and then we braved the snow and went to lunch. Alan was totally freaking out that we went out in it, but we went right after it started and it wasn't bad at all out. We're supposed to get anywhere from 6-10 inches tonight and tomorrow. I made the comment about how funny it would be if I went into labor during the snowstorm...we'll see if it happens!

Doctor Update

I got back from my doctor's appointment not too long ago, and this is what he said. I'm still 1 cm dialated, 0 station and I'm now 80% effaced instead of 70%. Whooptie doo! I guess I should be glad for even a little progress, but I'm really just annoyed by the almost lack of. He also told me that if I haven't gone into labor by my next appointment on the 29th, then they will schedule an induction for 1-2 weeks later. They're going by their due date, which is December 29. This is based on what Gizmo measured at my first ultrasound. If you go by charting, then it's December 19 and I'm almost a week overdue.

I'm beginning to get, ok, I AM really impatient for his arrival, but I really would like to go into labor on my own. As of now, there's no physical reason to induce until 42 weeks, but that's January 12th going by their date! I don't know if I can wait that long!

I'm thinking that what I will do is let them schedule an induction for 41 weeks, and then let them do a membrane sweep on the 29th in the hopes that I go into labor on my own. Gizmo, please stop taking your sweet time!

Doctor's Appointment

Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment and I was really hoping for some progress. Yeah, I so didn't get my wish :( I'm still 1cm dialated, 70% effaced and at -1 to 0 station. This is what I've been for the last 3 weeks!

I'm still hoping that goober comes before Christmas, but I'm not getting my hopes up. At least my mom will most likely get her wish and be here in time for his birth.

He better be here by New Year's!

Couple Things

1) I'm so jealous of all the snow people are getting in the Midwest. I keep seeing Facebook status posts and snow pics. All we've gotten is rain and that's all we're gonna get. We don't need the crazy amounts we got last winter, but a couple inches would be nice. That's all I'm sayin'

2) My cat, Powder, is driving me nuts! The last few days she has to be sitting/lying with me at ALL times. And, she follows me everywhere. Normally, she only cuddles with me if Alan isn't around. Now she prefers me to him. Does this mean Ewan's coming soon?

3) I've been making and freezing meals for when the goober's here. So far we have chili, Southwest mac n cheese, chicken tomato chowder and quinoa stir fry. I really want to make chicken noodle soup, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. If I'm on my feet for more than about 5-10 minutes my back/hips/pelvis start aching and Braxton Hicks start up. Hmm...maybe I should be on my feet ALL the time then!

The Tourist

Alan and I saw The Tourist this weekend. I know I said that Harry Potter would be the last movie we saw in the theater before the goober arrives, but apparently I was wrong. Alan said that if I haven't had the baby by next weekend, then we're going to see Tron...yay...come on Gizmo! :-)

Anyways, I really liked the film. It takes place in Paris and Venice, two places I've been and really liked. Not only were Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in it, but Paul Bettany and Rufus Sewell, two actors I also really like. For those of you that don't know who they are, Paul Bettany was the lead in Wimbledon and played Chaucer in A Knight's Tale. Rufus Sewell was the "bad" knight in A Kight's Tale and he was also in The Holiday.

I'm not going to give away the ending, but you should see it!

So Ready!

Have I mentioned how ready I am for Gizmo to make his arrival? I had a doctor's appointment today and I'm 1cm dialated, 70% effaced and he's at -1 to 0 station. Yes, that's better than nothing, but I'm ready for him to be here already! I'm sick of walking around in pain, with my hips, back and butt aching like crazy. I have carpal tunnel in my wrist and unfortunately with the brace I have, I can't write, which I need to do for my job, so I can't wear it during the day. I'm still getting nauseous on occasion and I feel like a turtle! Plus, I absolutely cannot wait to have my gallbladder out. My doctor's office had Chik fil A catered to them today and I wanted to cry it smelled so good.

I know that while he can come any day now, first time moms tend to go late.

I wish he would hurry up!

Happy Birthday!

To me!

I cannot believe I am 29 today. It seriously seems like it was yesterday that I was dancing on tables at Sig Ep at UE. Where did my 20's go? Not that it's necessarily a bad thing, I'm married to my best friend, our son is going to make his arrival any day now, I've gotten to go places and experience things I never thought I would have to opportunity to do when I was a freshman in college, but still, it's a scary thought to think that the next birthday I will be celebrating is THIRTY!

So, what did we do today? Alan took me to lunch at Macaroni Grill and we went to Longwood Gardens to see the Christmas displays. We have a membership there and go at least once a season, especially since I LOVE gardens!

I have a ton of photos from this fall and today that I need to put up on flickr from the gardens, but here are a few from today.

More Preggo Pics

I thought I would post the rest of the preggo pics that I have.

Shopping is Complete!

Well, almost.

I wanted to get all our Christmas shopping bought and wrapped as well as our Christmas cards sent early this year since Gizmo could make his arrival any day now. We have everything finished except Christmas and birthday gifts for my mom. She will be here over Christmas so I'm not in as much of a hurry to get her stuff finished.

All I have left to do is bake cookies for my grandma's Christmas package. I'm hoping I can get over this cold sooner rather than later so I can get everything sent out this coming week.

Which, being 9 months pregnant with a cold and not being allowed to take anything for it really sucks by the way. Cold cold go away, don't come back another day!
