If you're a fellow Hoosier you probably know that Indiana is celebrating its bicentennial of becoming a state this year. Or you might not, so there you go! :-) One of the things the state is doing is a bicentennial torch relay through all 92 counties in the state, ending in Indianapolis. Last Saturday, the torch came through my county and Cecily and I went to see it.
It actually came really close to my house, but I decided to go downtown where the county closing ceremony was because there was a little presentation and they had a traveling museum that talks about the bicentennial.
Sadly there weren't that many people there, much less than in other, less populated counties. I have been excited for weeks about this and I was so glad I got to go. Alan has been making fun of me about it but I don't care. Yes, I'm a history nerd, but how often do you get to experience a bicentennial? Not that often. I'm really glad I got to experience this little slice of history!
