#ColdplayLouisville

If you follow me on Instagram, then you already know that I saw Coldplay in Louisville on Wednesday. When I found out that they were going on tour in the spring and that they were going to be so close, I was determined to be at one of their concerts. Alan does like them so he told me that he would go, but if I wanted to see if one of my friends who likes them wanted to go instead to go for it. So, my friend Sarah came with me. We left work early and drove over to Louisville where we explored 21c, a really cool hotel/art gallery before heading to dinner. I got a tour of 21c Lexington during a work meeting and it's a really cool hotel. There's an art gallery in the hotel and all the rooms also display art. Plus, almost each location is in a rehabbed historic building.

After dinner and drinks at the Troll Pub, located under the bridge to Indiana, we headed over to the YUM! Center (the name makes me laugh every time haha) for the concert. Some chick called Foxes opened first who neither of us really liked and she was followed by Alessia Cara. I had no idea who she was, but she does have several songs on the radio that I recognized. Then finally, FINALLY, Coldplay!

This is the third time I have seem them in concert and each time they get better and better. The lights, the music, Chris Martin...amazing! I wish I had taken my camera and not just my phone because the photos don't do everything justice!

They played a lot of stuff from their latest and newer albums, but also a lot of their earlier stuff, including almost all of my favorites. For part of the concert they came out to this tiny stage just below us - Alan said they did that when we saw them in Philly, but I don't remember. It was great to be so much closer to them!

We had so much fun and Alan was so right - the concert was so much better with someone who actually likes them!

It's Ok July 26, 2016

...that I was totally teary eyed buying Cecily's lunchbox for preschool last week.

...that I had one of my best runs in a long time this past weekend. It felt amazing!

...that I bought a new pair of running shoes and when I ran in them for the first time, I realized that they aren't going to work because they hurt my feet terribly.

...that Ewan starts Kindergarten in two weeks and I am so not ready for my baby to start school.

...that I keep meaning to fill you in on what all you've missed the last couple months and it just hasn't happened. Once you get out of the habit of blogging, it's difficult to get back into it. But, here's a teaser for you.

What's ok with you this week?

$10 at Target - June

Sweet Turtle Soup

I completely forgot about this last month so I made sure to do it in time this month. I went over my lunch break last week on what happened to be a not so great day. Here's what I wound up purchasing. Don't judge!

I knew I wanted a smoothie because they were one sale and I was scouring the dollar spot for glow sticks. I have been using the kids while running at night for self-illumination but they used them all over the 4th of July. There weren't any,  but I was able to find them in the party section. So, I continued on my mission: chocolate. Last week was pretty stressful and I made my trip on the most stressful day. I originally intended on getting some Justin's peanut butter cups, but then I saw the Bark Thins. Since they're my favorite I went ahead and splurged. I was wondering around, trying to figure out what to spend the last bit of my $10 on and came across the 70% off outdoor clearance run. So, I traded in my glowsticks for light up bracelets and a star dish. Who knows how long the bracelets will last, but for $0.70 they're worth it!

Grand total: $9.88

I forgot to take a photo of my receipt so I guess you'll have to take my word for it!

Kids Behind the Blog - July

I can't believe I forgot about this today! I love this link up because the kids have such random and crazy answers. I decided to ask Ewan just now and this is what he said.

What two things do you like to do outside in the summer?
Go to the beach! Umm...I like to play on our swingset.

If you could go anywhere this summer where would you go and why?
The park because I love to play there.

What is your favorite thing about summer?
Because the sun is so shiny and it lights the chalk up. Huh?!

If you could pick any way to spend a hot Summer day, how would you spend it?
Twist a tomato and pick it off. This kid is silly!

What is your favorite Summer treat?
My favorite summer treat is a...I'll give you a hint. It's fresh from Ms. Ann's garden...squash!

It's OK July 12, 2016

...that it's Tuesday evening and I'm just now writing this post.

...that I haven't posted in almost a month. Honestly, life is somewhat stressful right now and I just haven't had the time, effort or motivation to do much with the blog. Hopefully that will change soon!

...that I've been binge watching KUWTK on Hulu since Alan is out of town and not here to complain about it.

...that the kids have been driving me nuts with the dogs squeak toys. I think they make more noise than she does!

...that I desperately need to run and haven't really had much of an opportunity lately. I cannot wait for this weekend when Alan gets back!

What's ok with you this week?
