I had a great Mother's Day this year. I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what all was going to happen because Alan was out of town all week, but I should know better by now and that he had something planned all the way from Colorado.
I had grand intentions of getting up at 5AM to run the 9 mile route my running group ran on Saturday and even though I set my alarm, I don't even remember it going off. Oops! I wound up sleeping in til about 7:30 or so when Alan woke me up. He kept telling me that I should go run, even if it wasn't the full 9 miles, so that I could get some activity in after not doing much of anything all week. I figured he had something up his sleeve and that I needed to be out of the house for a bit, so off I went. I only wound up running 2 miles due to my old shoes hurting my feet but it was enough time for me to come home to this:
Alan was making pancakes and the kids decorated for a Mother's Day party. They were so excited! After we enjoyed our pancakes, I got to take a nice leisurely bath...with no interruptions!
We then went to a local pizza place for lunch and did some shopping. The kids desperately needed naps at this point and they fell asleep in the car on the way to my favorite local plant store so I was able to get what I needed without little fingers grabbing all sorts of random flowers.
Some of the seeds I planted in my herb garden didn't come up so I grabbed some flowers to fill in squares, plus I got a couple tomato plants since I never have luck starting from seeds. We spent the rest of the afternoon/evening out in the yard planting things and
playing pushing Cecily on the swings.
Hope you had a great day!
