December Recap and January Goals

Happy New Year! Because I live in Central Time, the ball actually dropped at 11PM - so weird! However, I was asleep by 10 because I was exhausted from the last couple days out of town for work. Great New Year's plans right?

Since I just did a recap of 2014, I'm only going to recap my December. How did you do?
  • Treat myself to my annual haircut for my birthday. Ha! Time got away from my and this so didn't happen in December.
  • Have a great birthday. Alan's birthday surprise was wonderful, but the actual day wasn't that great since the kids were sick and grouchy.
  • Have a successful cookie decorating party. Done! It went so well that I'm thinking of turning it into an annual event.
  • Take the kids to the Christmas light display at the fairgrounds followed by a visit with Santa. Done! The kids had a blast this year.
  • Have all gifts wrapped and ready to go by the Monday before Christmas. Done. I had everything wrapped and ready to go the week after my birthday.
  • Have a wonderful Christmas surrounded by family.  Despite the craptastic events surrounding my phone, I had a pretty good Christmas, which I really didn't think was going to happen.
I'm not going to plan out my whole year...going month to month has worked out well for me so far, therefore I intend to continue on doing it. Especially because life can change so quickly and my yearly goals might not be applicable anymore.
  • Have a successful fourth birthday and party for Ewan.
  • Finally get my haircut.
  • Clean the playroom every week. We used to do this and have gotten away from it. I definitely notice a difference in my anxiety when it's picked up at least once a week.
  • Go to church twice this month.
  • Go to the gym/exercise three times a week. I don't even want to admit this, but I haven't been to the gym since last June when I hurt my foot...
What are your goals for January, or 2015?

  1. I'm glad you had a good Christmas! It is so crazy how fast time gets away from us in December....

  3. Yay for cookie decorating events. That sounds fun. It's always something I want to do during Christmas but hardly get around to. Stopping by from the goals linkup. http://momssmallvictories.com/2015-goals-blogging-reading-home/

  7. You've been busy! If it makes you feel better I haven't been to the gym since February. I need to find something nearby that works for me that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Gyms in Baltimore are SO expensive!

  8. I've got too many goals! it's sort of scary thinking about sitting down and writing them all out, I think that's why I haven't done it yet. I'm glad to see you had a great Christmas despite the illness (we had a good percentage of sick people at ours too)

  9. I belong to Planet Fitness, which just happens to be about five minutes from my house. If you have any near you they're pretty cheap normally and usually have decent deals going on this time of year. I pay $10/month plus a $17 annual fee. I belonged to a location when we lived in PA and it was I think the same price.

  10. That's why I do them monthly...way too overwhelming if I create yearly goals. I know that I will beat myself up if I don't meet them too.

  11. We have Planet Fitness near where we used to live but not one in the city that I know of. There's a place near my office that does classes punch-card style: pilates, barre, etc....so I'm looking at that since it's not a monthly thing, it's close by, and something I'd actually do. The 2 gyms that dominate the city are $100ish a month which is robbery....but people do it. It's insane.

  12. Love the idea of planning out goals month by month. 'Yearly' never works for me - everything is all different by May :)
