January 2014 Recap and February 2014 Goals

So, how did I do with my January goals?
  • Join a gym and go three times a week (with the exception of when either I or Alan is out of town because it's just not feasible to get to the gym - I will exercise at home or in the hotel instead)

Not only did I join a gym, but I killed it!
  • Go to church twice a month - We went once, which is better than the zero times we went during December but not the two times we were aiming for.
  • Put $100 in savings
  • Keep $100 in savings - Unfortunately we had to transfer money out of savings due to some unforseen doctor's visits.
  • Host Ewan's birthday party Ewan's party was fantabulous!

  • Put Ewan on the waiting/interest list for preschool Unfortunately time got away from me this month and this didn't happen. The preschool that we will likely send him to has an informational meeting on March 1, so I guess I better get my act together in February!
  • Price and tag items for the spring consignment sale
Ok, so in all honestly, I feel like a total failure with this goals stuff. I accomplished about half of the items on my list. I guess that means maybe I shouldn't have so much? I dunno.

So, with that in mind, my goals for February are as follows:
  • Go to church twice this month
  • Put $100 in savings
  • Keep $100 in savings
  • Pay off a credit card with our tax return
  • Put Ewan on the waiting/interest list for preschool
I'm keeping it short and easy this month. Maybe I will accomplish everything then!

What are your goals for the month?

  1. I think you did a pretty good job. You complete over half of your goals. That is not terrible. Sometimes life gets away with us and certain goals just need to be postponed a little. It doesn't mean they won't get accomplished, just means your time table has changed :).

  2. That's a good way to look at it because that's definitely what happened with a few of these!

  3. You probably still accomplished more this month than if you hadn't written any goals, so I would still consider it a win!

  4. You id a great job! You set goals so you can be aggressive about it - if you don't shoot for the stars, you won't reach them!. Have you ever hear of Dave Ramsey for paying off debt? We did his program -and it works - and is awesome! Highly recommend it...!

  5. I think you did a great job! It is easy to think we hardly did anything, but after you look back at where you were at the beginning of the month to where you are now.. well you got a lot accomplished! Great job! :)

  7. That Superwhy cake is awesome! Superwhy is my youngest son's favorite educational show. Good luck with your Feb goals, hope you can get that credit card debt paid off for your financial health and make it to church for your spiritual health. I joined the linky too and hope you stop by!

  8. We aren't doing the debt snowball, we're paying highest interest first so I guess it's a modified version of his program.

  9. My son is a Superwhy fiend. He tells us his name is Ewan Superwhy all the time. So cute!

  10. True. I'm just a perfectionist and to admit that I didn't complete something is really hard for me.

  13. I think you did great too--I only did about half of my goals too, but I know I did more than if I hadn't set goals, so I'm still happy with it. Also, setting goals keeps what should be our priorities more in focus. Keep it up! Love the cake also, and I love that going to church more is one of your goals!

  14. I don't think you did too bad. Progress is progress and you knocked some things off your list. Things come up and sometimes we have to re-evaluate or continue goals. I used to work in behavioral health and we would meet monthly with our clients to review their goals. If goals had progress but weren't complete than we would extend the date. That cake is super cute BTW

  17. "Get my truck registration sticker" has been on my to-do list since December… I haven't done it yet LOL Can't be worse than that right? Keep up the good work, getting one thing done is better than getting no things done :)
