I posted in my January goals that I was going to join a gym. Well, I actually did that at the beginning of the month, but it's only been this weekend that I have finally been able to go.

I haven't been to a gym other than the apartment fitness center since grad school. While working out at 32 v. 26 is definitely harder (or maybe I'm just that out of shape!). Some things never change.
For instance, there are always the tiny girls that are just there to "hang out." Then there are the guys who are definitely there to check out the girls that are there to hang out. Who knew GTL existed in Southwest Indiana?
Me, on the other hand, was there with my circa 2006 iPod and its playlist that hasn't been updated since probably not too long after that. Pop, lock and drop it anyone?
Regardless, I have had amazing workouts the last two days in a row and have left feeling great. I also found my absolute favorite thing at the gym tonight, the standing ab machine. I used to be able to do 100 lifts without stopping back in the day. Tonight I was able to do 30 in 3 reps of 10. I was very proud of my old, out of shape self!
However, I am going to be so sore tomorrow....
