Paleo Gingerbread FAIL

I feel that it is only fair to post not only my successes in cooking, but also my failures. I am only human, afterall :-)

I LOVE gingerbread. It's my favorite holiday cookie by far. So, when I found a paleo recipe for it, I was so excited. Especially since I had made conventional gingerbread cookies with Ewan this past weekend and couldn't eat them.

Well, that recipe was an utter, utter FAIL!!!

These look tasty, but they were just gross!

I don't know what I did wrong, but the taste of molasses was so strong that I thought I was going to, well toss my cookies. There is a disclaimer at the bottom of the recipe that you can use maple syrup in place of the molasses and if I decide to make them again, I will do that. It's just such a disappointment to a normally super yummy treat. I guess what they say is true: Paleo converted recipes are not a true science and much of it is trial and error!

  1. I hate when recipes go wrong! It's so frustrating to put in the time to cook and then have it taste bad!

  2. Oh I know. Especially since I had to throw out three cups of almond flour that I used for the cookies. That stuff isn't cheap!
