We had a fairly low key Father's Day weekend. I say weekend because we've been in Louisville since Thursday night.
Alan and I went to Lexington Friday for a work meeting, where we explored Ranch house subdivisions and Auvergne, a really cool house dating to the 1830s.
On Saturday, we went to the zoo, which of course Ewan loved. One of the things I love about our zoo pass is that we get into reciprocal zoos either free or half off. Makes it so much more affordable!
Ewan was cracking us up because all he wanted to see were the giraffes, which are at the end. He would be like "Ooh a penguin! Where's the giraffes?" Silly kid!
Saturday night, my brother and sister-in-law brought their youngest girls over to play with Ewan. They had just gotten back from Florida that morning so it was nice of them to stop by for a bit. I loved watching Ewan play with Grace and Kate. He's just one of the big kids now!
On Sunday we went to Alan's grandparent's house for a Father's Day cookout. We didn't stay all that long because we had to drive home, but Ewan and Cecily were of course the hit of the party. We had given Alan his Father's Day gift on Thursday before we left for Louisville. I had taken the kids to a paint your own pottery place where they made him a frame with their hand prints on it. Nothing can top Alan's gift to me, but I try :-)
All in all, it was a great weekend. How was your Father's Day?
