Get to Know ME!

Since I've gained a TON of followers (Thank you for including me in your awesome giveaway Kaitlyn!) I thought I would do another get to know me post. This time with more random (and personal) questions!
  1. What was your favorite food when you were a child? It's not a food per se, but Faygo Red Pop. That was the stuff when I was 10!
  2. What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod? Hmm...I don't think I've used my iPod in several years...but #1 on iTunes is Crazy by KC & JoJo...in all fairness I apparently have used iTunes once on my new laptop!
  3. What is one of your favorite quotes? "This too shall pass" It's a must for mommies!
  4. What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity? Hiking at the state park near my family's lake house.
  5. What chore do you absolutely hate doing? Cleaning the kitchen, I don't know what it is, but it totally grosses me out.
  6. What is your favorite form of exercise? Rollerblading, hands down.
  7. What is your favorite time of day/day of the week/month of the year? I love twilight in the summer - there's something magical about that time when it's not quite dark, but it's not still light out either. My favorite day of the week would definitely have to be Friday - I love knowing that I have two days without work ahead of me! My favorite month is October - not only is it my wedding anniversary, but there's nothing better than a perfect fall day where there's not a cloud in the sky, the leaves are changing and it's not too hot and not too cold
  8. What’s your least favorite mode of transportation? Airplanes. It's not the flying part that bothers me, it's the crashing to my death bit that gets me every time.
  9. What is your favorite body part? My hair
  10. What sound do you love? My children's laughter. There is no better sound in the world.
  11. If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for? We had my son's 2nd birthday party and my friend's Baby Sprinkle at our house recently and my husband has disallowed any more parties because I get way too stressed (sad but true, it always results in a fight before the event!). But, I would love to still have our housewarming party that we were going to have last summer that never happened - I would love to just have a big cook out with our close friends and family and let the kids run around and play while us adults hung out.
  12. If you could paint a picture of any scenery you’ve seen before, what would you paint? When we were driving back from Edinburgh we were going through I think Northumberland and driving through these tiny villages set in the mountains. It was gorgeous and I think about that day often.
  13. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be? This is a really difficult question. I would almost automatically say 20 because that was the age I was when I was at Harlaxton, which was one of the best times of my life. However, if I were to stay 20 forever, then I would never have met my husband and wouldn't have my beautiful babies. So, as much as I hate to admit it, I'm going to say that I don't think I would choose to stay a certain age because every day brings new experiences, some good and some bad, that I wouldn't trade for anything.
  14. If you knew the world was ending in 2012, what would you do differently? I wouldn't change a thing. 2012 brought me my beautiful girl and she is such a blessed addition to our family.
  15. If you could choose anyone, who would you pick as your mentor? Hmm, I honestly don't know? Do they have to still be alive? If not, probably Eleanor of Aquitaine. Because she is awesome.
  16. If you could witness any event past, present or future, what would it be? I actually think about this a lot. If I could be a fly on the wall anywhere in time, where would I go...probably a speakesy during Prohibition. I love the Roaring 20's!
  17. If you could learn to do anything, what would it be? Figure out a way to get Ewan to sleep better. He has never been a good sleeper, ever, and we are at our wits end.
  18. If you had to work on only one project for the next year, what would it be? A manned mission to Mars.
  19. If you were immortal for a day, what would you do? Into space, that way if there was an accident, nothing would happen to me!
  20. If you had to change your first name, what would you change it to? I don't think I would change it. I really like my first name. While I like it now, I used to totally hate my middle name and would tell people it was Jacquelyn when I was younger.
  21. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet? Eleanor of Aquitaine
  22. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Pay off the lake house
  23. If you were reincarnated as an animal/drink/ice cream flavor, what would it be? white bengal tiger
  24. Which celebrity do you get mistaken for? Ha I wish!
  25. What do you want to be when you grow up? Well, I'm an architectural historian...but I would love to be a medieval historian when I grow up.
  26. When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? Depends on how exhausted I am. Either take a nap or ride the exercise bike and catch up on my magazine subscriptions. Or cleaning, there's always something to be cleaned!
  27. Have you ever had something happen to you that you thought was bad but it turned out to be for the best? Yes and it ultimately led me to my husband.
  28. What was one of the best parties you’ve ever been to? My friend Mindy's wedding reception. It was probably the best I've ever been to, including my own!
  29. What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up? Breaking Dawn Part II, I think I cried three times when I saw it!
  30. At what age did you become an adult? When we bought our washer and dryer, so age 29. I'd been living on my own for years, had a car in my name, gotten married and had a baby, but it wasn't until we bought appliances that I thought I was finally a "big kid."
