St. Louis Weekend

I mentioned in my previous post that we went to St. Louis for the weekend. What I didn't mention is that we had a blast! Saturday was spent at the zoo with Chris, Megan and Jayden. Ewan actually stayed awake for most of it! Probably the best part is when Ewan spit up on Chris. Chris didn't like it so much, but we all thought it was hilarious. Poor Ewan, I'm sure he'll still be hearing about it from Uncle Chris when he's 15!

Sunday we got up early and went to Laumeier Sculpture Park. It was literally across the highway from where we were staying and Alan really wanted to go. Since we went in the morning, there was hardly anyone there and it wasn't too hot. We tried out the carrier and Ewan did really well. It was a neat place, but next time I won't wear flip flops! We then met Mindy and Aria for lunch at Growlers Pub, which was yummy before going to Grant's Farm. I had never been and have wanted to go so it was nice to take the kiddos and hang out since the last time I saw Mindy was at my wedding. I didn't realize it was like a safari and a zoo in one. Alan and I both wanted to tour President Grant's home, but Ewan was exhausted and storms were coming in so we decided that it would be best to head home so we didn't get in too late. Ewan did awesome in the care on the way there and back. He was only fussy for the last 30 minutes or so. Hopefully he'll do well on the 6 hour car ride to the lake this weekend!

It was really nice to see family and friends that we don't get to see often. Hopefully it won't be another almost 2 years before Mindy and I get to hang out again!

Chris was chasing Alan after Ewan spit up!

Aria and Ewan had too much fun!

Four Months and an Update

Ok, so Ewan turned four months two weeks ago, but better late than never!

At his four month doctor appointment he weighed 14lbs8oz and was 25 inches long. He's rolling over like it's nobody's business, laughs out loud and starting this weekend has started reaching for people (I was first, sorry mamaw!)

He didn't get his shots because he had an ear infection :( He had been super clingy all weekend and wouldn't take a bottle, but didn't have a temperature, so we just thought he was being picky or something. Since he had his appointment on Monday, I didn't press it. I feel so bad because his little ears were probably hurting all weekend. Holly and Alan=Parenting FAIL

He's been on antibiotics and seems to be feeling a lot better so that's good!

We've had a busy few weeks and it isn't over yet! Last weekend was Alan's parents' yard sale in Louisville, this weekend we went to St. Louis and hung out with Alan's brother, his fiance and their kid and saw my friend Mindy and her daughter Aria, who are visiting her parents from Wisconsin (There will be a post on this weekend in the near future!). Next weekend we're going to the lake and seeing my family and friends and the weekend after that is Anya's first birthday.

I can honestly say that we have done so much more with so many people in the almost three months that we've been back in Indiana than we did in the entire three years we lived in Pennsylvania!

Guess Who Went Full Time?

That'd be ME!

I was offered a full time position where I've currently been working part time. In my field. Using my degree.

YAY!

Happy Mother's Day!

Yesterday was my first Mother's Day. Alan made me breakfast and then we went to the zoo later in the day. They were having a garden sale so I bought a couple plants. Ewan, of course, slept through about half of everything. Alan kept taking pictures and he said that he needed to take 5 photos of Ewan and I yesterday for my present. I'm quite curious as to what this is! He's really creative so I know it will be something I will love. All the photos from yesterday are on his camera, otherwise I would post some.

Once we got home, we attempted to work in the yard. I've been looking forward to finally being able to plant a vegetable garden in the ground and not in containers. Well, it looks like I'm going to have to wait  a little longer until we get a house. Whomever lived here before us put river rock down and there's several layers and we would have to dig about a foot down to get it all out. We decided that it's not worth putting in that much effort for somewhere that we won't be living at permanently. I will be able to plant a few flowers and hopefully tomatoes, but anything else will have to be in containers. Bummer. I can't wait to actually get what I can started though!
