Flower Show!

So this weekend was a weekend of flowers...yesterday we went to Longwood Gardens and renewed our garden pass. We haven't been since the summer and I was very glad to go again. I got some really good photos of flowers...probably my best yet!I'm thinking of taking my mom and grandma when they come up over Easter.

Today we went to the Philadelphia Flower Show. Alan took me last year, and I really enjoyed it. This year's theme was Passport Around the World and there were gardens representing India, Brazil, Singapore, Ireland and South Africa. It was cool, but it seemed like the focus this year was less on flowers and more on greenery.

This is from the South African section.

I thought the lobster was cute.

One of my favorite places to go is the market, but this year was kind of lame I thought. Alan and I found some really cool painted tin ceiling tiles from an architectural salvage place, but this year we didn't find anything. I did buy some seeds for my garden this year. I've decided to branch out from what I grew last year. I can't wait until planting season begins in May!

Snowmageddon 2010 Part 2!

I haven't had a chance to post since the first snowstorm we got last weekend. Well, we got another 18" on top of the 29" we already had. Let's just say that it's been a CRAZY week here. The good news is that I got to work from home for 2 days. That was nice not to have to worry about driving in that mess. Unfortunately, we weren't able to remote into our computers for about half of each day, so we were working completely blind for awhile there, and that was NOT fun.

Here is a photo from the storm taken the night is started:

It's starting to melt now, but unless we get 60 degree weather for a couple days, I can easily see us still having snow from this storm until April!

On another note, Alan got 2 dozen roses to be delivered to me at work yesterday for Valentine's Day...except they were never delivered! He's really mad about it, but I think it was really sweet of him to do that, even if it didn't work out how he'd planned. Other than that, we really don't have any big plans for Valentine's Day. Counting this weekend, I only have 3 more weekends where I'm not working Sundays, so I'm just trying to enjoy them while I can.

Snowmageddon 2010!

So we're in the midst of a HUGE snowstorm. When I woke up this morning, we had 19" and the snow isn't expected to stop until this evening. Alan and I are taking bets on how much snow we're going to end up with. I think it'll be around 2'. He thinks it'll be closer to 3'. Who knows?
