Alan and I decided we were going to Babies R Us sometime this weekend to use our 10% off everything left on our registry coupon. We have a couple 25% off coupons but they aren't valid for a few weeks yet that we're planning on using for the big stuff that we still need. I also have a $50 gift card coming from cashing in my credit card points...if it ever gets here this time that is!
My coworkers threw me a baby shower last week and gave me $300! I expected some sort of shindig because they've done something for everyone else that has had a baby in the last few months, but I didn't expect that at all. It was very generous of them considering I haven't been there that long and I don't talk to all that many people. That money, combined with the gift card and coupons will pretty much pay for everything will still need. This makes us happy because not only do we have to finish getting stuff for Gizmo, but we also have to get Christmas gifts for our families.
But, I digress, again.
It wasn't busy at all there, which was nice because I'm not really in the mood to deal with tons of people nor can I be on my feet for long periods of time because I'm so sore and uncomfortable in general (which is another blog entirely!). Since it wasn't that bad at Babies R Us, we decided to venture over to Toys R Us to get gifts for our nieces and nephew since we were already out and the closest stores aren't really that close at all. The parking lot was almost full so I figured it would be a madhouse, and there were tons of people inside, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. I was figuring it would be like Brandywine Target on Black Friday weekend, you can't even move there are so many people! We were able to get gifts for all the kids except the oldest girls and get out in under an hour. Not bad I must say!
Whenever we go to Christiana to Babies R Us, we always go to Don Pablos, today was no exception. I used to love that place and was so sad when it closed in the Fort. It's nice to be able to eat there every now and then.
We were going to go over to the mall to get gifts for Kayla and Gabbie, but we decided to go to Concord Mall next weekend instead. Even though there were DE State Troopers directing traffic, the parking lot was complete full except for the employee parking lot and there was no way I was walking that plus through the mall right now.
Their gifts are wrapped and we're watching National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. It was really nice to knock out some of the gifts we're getting early. Now we just have my family, Gabbie and Kayla. I also have to get Alan's gifts...just need to find a time to do it when he's not around!
