Michael Buble

Last night Alan took me to see Michael Buble for my birthday. Even though I'm almost 37 weeks pregnant, I was able to have a really good time. The opening act was a group called Naturally 7 from New York. They were awesome. They reminded me of BoysIIMen, but they were completely acapella and also did some beat boxing and vocalplay. Very very cool.

Michael was awesome, but I'm sure you already know that. He started with jazz standards, such as Georgia On My Mind and Mack the Knife, then he broke out into other stuff, such as Van Morrison as well as his own stuff. He even did some Michael Jackson! I've seen interviews with him and he was hilarious then, just as he was last night.

I took a couple videos on my phone of both Naturally 7 and Michael, but the sound quality is horrible. My old razr took much better video than my droid. You would think that would be the other way around!

It was really nice to hear some jazz. I was in jazz band through middle and high school but then stopped playing in college and last night made me realize how much I miss it. Depending on where we are after Gizmo's born, I am definitely going to look into joining an ensemble again. I doubt I would have the time, but I would love to play clarinet in a wind ensemble and alto or tenor saxophone in a jazz ensemble. Hopefully I will be able to do so!
